The County of Kauai’s Office of Economic Development (OED) is requesting proposals for its Innovation Grant for Fiscal Year 2020-21. OED will be accepting applications for innovative projects to generate short-term and long-term economic growth and diversification on Kauai. The intent of the grant is to support new programs or projects that advance innovation by identifying and solving local problems in the areas of small business, technology, transportation, agriculture, local manufacturing, circular economy and tourism in Kauai County.
The Hawaii Restaurant Card is a prepaid debit card. The $500 cards will be mailed to displaced workers who are currently receiving unemployment insurance benefits. The cards can be used at any Hawaii restaurant. There is no need to sign up for the program. The cards will be mailed to qualified recipients in mid-October.

Gov. David Ige has approved Kaua‘i Mayor Derek Kawakami’s request to place a temporary moratorium on Kaua‘i’s participation in the state’s pre-travel testing program. Effective Dec. 2 at 12:01 a.m., all transpacific and intercounty travelers arriving in Kaua‘i are subject to the 14-day quarantine regardless of testing.
The Kaua‘i Virtual Economic Summit will be held Nov 24th. The Summit includes a panel discussion on implementing a new paradigm for visitor travel.
