The County of Kauaʻi Office of Economic Development (OED) is now accepting applications for its Fiscal Year 2027 Kauaʻi Cultural Programs & Events Grant Program, providing funding to nonprofit organizations that celebrate Kauaʻi’s unique culture, strengthen community connections, and enhance experiences for residents and visitors alike. Applications open on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., and close on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

The program will award grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000, with approximately $165,000 available to support projects throughout Kauaʻi. Funding is intended for community events, educational programs, Native Hawaiian cultural initiatives, and projects that strengthen Kauaʻi’s sense of place while supporting responsible visitor management and community well-being.

Projects may include cultural festivals, performances, workshops, educational activities, community events, Native Hawaiian cultural programming, and other initiatives that preserve and share Kauaʻi’s rich cultural heritage while benefiting residents and supporting County and community goals.

Applications must be submitted electronically through the County’s SMApply Grant System. Applications submitted by mail, email, fax, or hand delivery will not be accepted. 

Written questions regarding the RFP must be submitted no later than Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to oedgrants@kauai.gov.
