Workforce Development
Objectives
OED supports workforce development by connecting job seekers and employers to existing resources. While OED does not run programs directly, the office plays a supporting role by:
- Strengthening partnerships with educators, nonprofits, and industry to align training with economic needs.
- Offering guidance to ensure programs meet industry standards and align with Kaua‘i’s economic plans.
- Supporting partners in launching targeted training initiatives in response to workforce gaps.
- Promoting job readiness and career pathways, especially for youth and underserved communities.
