Are you a young person who is passionate about making a difference in our community? HDOT is looking for youth ages 11 to 24 to join the Hawaiʻi Youth Transportation Council (HYTC) and help shape the future of transportation in our islands! This is a historic opportunity for young adults to reduce carbon emissions, improve bike and pedestrian infrastructure, and protect our natural resources and we especially need representation from Kauai!

The HYTC empowers young leaders to:

  • Share their ideas on improving transportation systems in Hawaiʻi.
  • Collaborate with peers and experts to design youth-friendly solutions.
  • Gain valuable leadership experience while advocating for sustainable change.

What’s Involved?

  • Monthly meetings (virtual or in-person) to discuss transportation priorities and initiatives.
  • Opportunities to develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A platform to make a real impact on policies affecting youth and the broader community.

No experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and contribute!

How to Get Involved:

If you know a young person who would be a great fit, PLEASE encourage them to apply here. Applications are due by November 25, 2024.
