The American Farmland Trust (AFT) is offering the 2025 Emergency Resilience Grant through its Brighter Future Fund to support small to mid-sized, for-profit farms and ranches across the U.S., including Hawai‘i. This grant aims to assist those experiencing financial hardship due to recent disruptive events such as natural disasters (e.g., flooding, wildfires, avian flu), loss or delay of funding from government freezes, or market disruptions.
Key Details:
- Grant Amount: Up to $10,000 per project (or up to $10,250 if also awarded a Real Farmer Care award).
- Eligibility Criteria:
- For-profit farms or ranches producing food or agricultural products for sale, barter, or exchange.
- Demonstrated financial hardship directly resulting from recent disruptive events.
- Operations must be based in the U.S. (all 50 states and 5 territories).
- Applicants must provide proof of income and documentation of financial distress, including cost estimates, a proposed budget, and timeline.
- Previous recipients of AFT’s Brighter Future Fund grants in 2025 are not eligible; however, those who applied but were not selected in previous cycles are encouraged to apply.
- Application Period: Open from April 16 at 8:00 a.m. EDT to April 26 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is advised.
