CARES Grant – KPAA

KPAA’s Kauai Resilience Project, in partnership with our KRP partners, will provide community-based activities designed to promote suicide prevention and mental health stigma reduction. Activities will be led by KRP partners, including the Hawaii Children’s Theater, Kauai Team Challenge, Kauai Mental Health Advocates, the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center, Catholic Charities, Hale Opio, and individuals providing suicide prevention training. In addition, KPAA will promote these messages in the community through a public education campaign, which will include radio, print, and social media ads; webinars; and the creation of two public art murals by local artists. The campaign’s messaging will be guided by the members of the Prevent Suicide Kauai Task Force and Dr. Deb Goebert, Professor and Associate Director of Research and Director of the Hawaii’s Caring Communities Initiative for Youth Suicide Prevention at JABSOM.
