Calling All Kaua‘i Dog Owners!

Be part of Conservation Dogs of Hawai‘i

The Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) is a growing threat to our Kauai agriculture, ecosystems, and cultural identity. Early detection is essential, and specially trained dogs are crucial for identifying potential breeding sites and detecting the presence or absence of CRB. However, while this method is highly effective, relying on detector dog teams from other islands causes delays and heightens the risk of CRB spreading on Kaua‘i.

That’s why, with support from the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture, the County of Kaua‘i is partnering with Conservation Dogs of Hawai‘i to train Kaua‘i-based volunteer detector dog teams. If you and your dog are ready to protect our island, this is your chance! Training will prepare you and your furry companion to locate CRB breeding sites and make a real difference.

Join the fight for Kaua‘i! Be part of the solution and help protect our paradise.
