The Hawaii Restaurant Card is a prepaid debit card. The $500 cards will be mailed to displaced workers who are currently receiving unemployment insurance benefits. The cards can be used at any Hawaii restaurant. There is no need to sign up for the program. The cards will be mailed to qualified recipients in mid-October.
The program provides renters with monthly rent, as well as financial counseling. Funded by a portion of the Federal CARES Act, the program is administered by nonprofit partners Catholic Charities Hawaii and Aloha United Way.
