The Hawai‘i State Energy Office (HSEO) is excited to issue this Request for Interest (RFI) seeking eligible entities interested in partnering with HSEO in an application to the United States Department of Energy’s (USDOE) State-Based Home Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grant Program (Program). The purpose of the Program is to attract, train, certify, place, and retain a diverse set of local workers to deliver the influx of new federally-funded energy efficiency and electrification incentives and financing programs, including but not limited to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)-funded Home Energy Rebate programs (IRA Sections 50121 and 50122) covered under Home Efficiency Rebates (HOMES) and the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR). In addition to developing and providing training courses, HSEO is seeking partners who can facilitate the participation of underserved communities and historically underrepresented groups.
Because eligible partners may have different desired skills, based on responses to this RFI, HSEO may select multiple partners in accordance with the Selection Criteria in the RFI. Partners should anticipate working with other entities engaged with community outreach and energy efficiency workforce development in Hawai‘i.
This RFI is released through the Hawai‘i Awards & Notices Data System (HANDS).
