Pediatric vaccines now available at mobile clinics

LĪHU‘E – COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 5-11 are now available at mobile clinics from Kekaha to Hanalei.

“Mahalo to the Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office and Ho‘ōla Lāhui for bringing these clinics directly to neighborhoods around the island,” said Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami. “As we are seeing an increase in cases, getting vaccinated will not only protect yourself and your families, but our entire community.”

The Department of Health’s mobile vaccine clinics for ages 5-11 will take place at Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Hanapepe Neighborhood Center on Friday, Nov. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Hanalei Neighborhood Center on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon; Kilauea Neighborhood Center on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m.; and Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center on Monday, Nov. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. The clinic is walk-in only; no appointments are needed.

The clinic will return to the same locations three weeks later to administer second vaccine doses. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Ho‘ōla Lāhui will hold clinics for children and adults ages 5 and older this Saturday, Nov. 13,
from 9 to 11 a.m., at their Kapa‘a and Waimea locations. The Kapa‘a clinic is located at 4800D Kawaihau Road and the Waimea clinic is located at 4643B Waimea Canyon Road. Next week Saturday, Nov. 20, the clinics will move to Kekaha Neighborhood Center and Isenberg Park, from 9 to 11 a.m. Walk-ins are accepted, but appointments are preferred. Please call the Ho‘ōla Lāhui hotline to confirm your dose: (808) 938-0938. A parent or guardian must sign consent form for minors.

Pediatric vaccines are also available at Wilcox Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Longs Līhu‘e, and Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH). Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Wilcox Medical Center clinic for ages 5-11 is open Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m. To schedule an appointment for your child, visit WilcoxHealth.org/Vaccine.

The Kaiser Permanente Līhuʻe Clinic is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed from noon to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, or reserve an appointment at kpinhawaii.org or (808) 246-5600.
Longs Pharmacy at Kukui Grove in Līhuʻe is open seven days a week. To schedule an
appointment for your child, visit cvs.com.

Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital (KVMH) in Waimea is open for ages 5-11 on Wednesday,
Nov. 17, from 2 to 5 p.m.; and Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. This location is walk-in only; no appointments are needed.
