The eviction moratorium which has been in place since April 2020, has prevented landlords from evicting
renters who fell behind on payments. After Aug. 6, landlords will again have the right to evict tenants
who have not paid their rent, while also following a new state law which has made significant changes to
the landlord-tenant code.
Hawaii producers still have time to respond to their HorticultureSurvey, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). NASS will continue to accept responses through mid-October.
The temporary eviction ban will continue until a county no longer has substantial or high levels of community transmission for 14 consecutive days or on Oct. 3, whichever comes earlier.

The County of Kaua‘i’s Office of Economic Development announced the launch of a
new website aimed at informing both visitors and residents of the various transportation options
available on Kaua‘i.
The new website, GetAroundKauai.com, was created in response to the current rental car
shortage on Kaua‘i, but has a broader goal of providing people with the resources they need to make more sustainable transportation choices.
– The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency announces applications are now being accepted for
the Pua Loke Street Apartments, the county’s newest affordable housing development in Līhu‘e.
Prospective residents can apply at https://www.eahhousing.org/apartments/pua-loke/. All
completed applications received by 4 p.m. on July 16, 2021, will be eligible for the lottery. The lottery for
new applicants will begin July 19, 2021. Applications received on or after 4:01 p.m. on July 16, will be
processed according to the application completion date
Governor David Ige approved Mayor’s Emergency Rule #19 Amendment #4 last week. The amended rule sets Thursday as the date for the County of Kaua‘i to move to Tier 5 on the Kaua‘i Business & Recreational Guidelines for COVID-19 chart, as the state reaches the previously announced
milestone of 60 percent of residents fully vaccinated.
Kaua’i-based companies are invited to apply for co-matching funds issued by Innovate Hawaii to support their e-commerce and digital marketing initiatives.
Gov. David Ige announced that effective July 8, the State of Hawai‘i will eliminate its pre-travel testing/quarantine requirement for domestic travelers to Hawai‘i who have been fully vaccinated in the United States.
