2050 Hawaii Sustainability Plan
The 2050 Hawaii Sustainability Plan serve as the state’s sustainability and climate strategic action plan that aligns the state’s goals, policies, and actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The plan also recommends sustainability and climate change actions for 2020–2030. The State is currently updating the plan, check out their website on how to be involved.

Rebates and Credits

Appliance Replacement Rebate
This residential incentive program is designed to encourage members to discard older, less efficient appliances and replace them with new, energy-efficient models. Qualifying rebates will be credited to your account within 3-6 weeks from the date approved. New construction does not qualify. Click button to visit KIUC’s website for more information.

Qualifying Member Appliance Replacement Program
This program helps qualifying low-income seniors (60+) reduce their residential electricity use by replacing older, less efficient refrigerators and defective electric water heaters with new, more efficient ones at no cost to the member. KIUC partnered with the County of Kauai to administer the program. For more information and to determine eligibility, interested members must call the County's Agency on Elderly Affairs at 808.241.4470.

The County of Kaua‘i’s Office of Economic Development recently launched a website aimed at informing both visitors and residents of the various transportation options available on Kaua‘i. The website, GetAroundKauai.com, includes an overview of transportation options, a map with Kaua‘i bus stops and routes, regional walking guides, and other tips for how to get around Kaua‘i without a car. Weekly blog posts educate readers on transportation related topics, such as how to reserve an airport shuttle, parking permit requirements for Koke‘e State Park, and details regarding the Hanalei Hill access schedule.
