Q: What supports are available to homeowners during COVID-19?

A: Mortgage forbearance and assistance paying utility bills is available for most homeowners.  Information on mortgage payment assistance can be found here.  Many Service providers are also willing to waive late fees and maintain service for those affected by the pandemic. Q:  I need support feeding my family.  What resources are available?

A: A list of food resources is available here, including information about SNAP, school meals and various food distribution programs.

Q: I haven’t received my unemployment benefits yet. Are there any loan programs available?

A: Kauai Government Employees Federal Credit Union (KGEFCU) has an emergency loan program with zero percent interest. This loan is available to Kauai residents even if you are not currently a KGEFCU member. You can find out more and apply here.
